The London Tavern which has been serving the people of Poulner and those travelling through since the 1860s. We are just a couple of minutes off the A31 and well worth a detour. Food is served at lunchtimes and in the evenings and has developed a great reputation; we have dishes for all the family. Ingredients are sourced locally and we prefer to deal with producers from the forest and surrounding areas. The selection of beers, lagers, ciders and wines is extensive and varied; and brandy, the reason why we exist, [link to pub history] is stocked to this day along with all the other spirits. We love live music at the Tavern and we have a full and varied programme of performers. There is a large beer garden for the summer days and evenings and a huge log fire for those winter nights. Whether you come to eat, drink, play darts, have a tea or coffee or take part in the quiz, bingo or other events you are assured of a warm welcome. Our landlord Phil took over the Tav in 2018 having been a regular since he came of age. When the lease became available he gave up his career to stand behind the bar that he had spent so many years in front of.
