Community for Sustainable Energy Profile and History

We now represent over 60,000 contributing members across Colorado. Our vision is to help develop energy systems fostering protection of the natural environment, economic prosperity, and the continued improvement of quality of life in Colorado by engaging consumer/citizen input in energy policy decisions. To achieve this vision, we knock on doors to raise awareness of energy issues and organize con sumer demand to inform and influence policy makers. We work on campaigns to improve energy efficiency,transportation systems, speed the adoption of available renewable energy resources, and push utilities to explore new frontiers in sustainable energy technology. CforSE is guided by two sets of principles: The principles of sustainabilitystate that the organization shall work towards a healthier environment, economy, and equitable social condition that can be achieved without compromising future generations' ability to do the same. The principles of grassroots organizingstate that grassroots: 1) Win real improvements in peoples lives. 2) Empower individuals to create change. 3) Shift the balance of power towards the people.
