School Empowerment Network Profile and History

School Empowerment Network (SEN) is a national non-profit organization that collaborates with school districts to identify and develop transformational school leaders and new school models. Our work identifies and prepares the right people to make dramatic changes in their schools, leading to higher satisfaction and retention of employees, and the creation of a self-sustaining leadership pipeline for the district. SEN offers three distinct leadership development services to help districts build a robust internal leadership pipeline designed to meet the increasing need for top quality school leaders. We also provide district-level strategic consulting and assist with the creation of formal teacher leadership roles and clearly defined career pathways. We start with a rigorous selection process to identify strong candidates and prepare them for school leadership, teacher coaching, and/or improving their own practice in the classroom depending on their current experience and abilities. Through intensive coursework and on-site coaching, we develop better teachers, better coaches, and ultimately the innovative leaders needed to open new high-performing schools or turn around struggling schools.
