Owasso has a City Manager/Co uncil form of government. The people are in charge of the make up of the municipal government. The voters elect five City Council Members who serve as policy makers. The City Manager is responsible for day to day operations of the city and our City Departments. He works closely with the Owasso Public Works Authority, Owasso Economic Development Authority , and the Golf Authority. Sales Tax is the primary source of income for the city. This helps to pay salaries, infrastructure, etc. Owasso has no income from ad valorem taxes, and has in the past left this source of income for the schools, which are rated very high in excellence in education. Owasso's excellence in schools, quality of life, Churches, businesses and family values are just a few reasons people decide on Owasso to become their city of choice to live and call home.
