For more than 60 years, Nazareth Hospital has been the community hospital for Northeast Philadelphia. Founded by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, we strive to serve those who are ill and in pain. Assisting people in accomplishing revitalized health and wellness has been both our mission and our tradition. Through the provision of outstanding patient care and state-of-the-art-technology, along with a focus on service excellence, Nazareth is committed to achieving patient satisfaction. Today, Nazareth Hospital is more than a great community hospital. We offer outstanding diagnostic, medical, surgical, and therapeutic care to our community. Named as one of the Top 100 ICUs in 2001 by Solucient Leadership Institute, Nazareth has earned praise for the outstanding care provided in the Intensive and Coronary Care Units. We have also been recognized by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council as one of the hospitals in Southeastern Pennsylvania with significantly better outcomes (1999 and 2000). Nazareth also is one of five community hospitals in the Delaware Valley area chosen to participate in the Stroke Treatment Enhancement Program by the Delaware Valley Stroke Council. Each year, Nazareth admits over 10,000 people and cares for more than 25,000 people in our Emergency Department. In addition, our staff provides over 160,000 outpatient visits per year. With the dedication of our 1200 employees and 350+ physicians and specialists, Nazareth Hospital provides healthcare services for the body, mind and spirit that are responsive to the changing needs of the families in our community.
