McDonald's Playworld Profile and History

McDonald's Playworld, Inc. is a business that was created in October, 1996, starting with only 18 children, and expanded up to the licensed capacity of 60 children. At full capacity, we normally hire an average of eleven employees, both certified childcare professionals and food preparation staff. We were nationally accredited by NAEYC and Gold Seal accredited by the State of Florida (from 2005 to August 2010). Due to a contract funded by The Children Trust, Inc., we expanded our services in 2007 to the community at large, under a division named, Family Enrichment Program, which was subdivided into four (4) categories -- counseling to children with dicipline problems or concerns, basic academic and tutoring services to low income children, father-child reconciliation, and, finally, maternal-child development. This program expanded our capacity by 400 users, in addition to our regular operations. In December 2008, we were awarded the TAPP contract with Miami-Dade Public School Board to refer daycare services to teenage parents throughout Dade County (involving 80 daycare centers). In August 2009, we were awarded a contract with Florida Pregnancy Support Services to provide assisstance to all pregnant women.
