Lakeshore Foundation Profile and History

Founded in 1923, Lakeshore Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes independence for persons with physically disabling conditions and provides opportunities to pursue active, healthy lifestyles. Lakeshore Foundation offers a wide range of fitness, recreation, athletic and education programs to children and adults who experience diagnostic conditions including spinal cord injuries, cer ebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, amputation, and visual impairment. The Foundation also serves persons who have been diagnosed with arthritis, diabetes, chronic pain, cardiac conditions, and many other related disorders. Its facility also serves as an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site that can accommodate a variety of sports. The Lakeshore Foundation Training Site not only provides training facilities to Olympic & Paralympic sports, but also provides sport performance, sports psychology, and sport science services.
