Genome Valley Profile and History

It has India's largest concentration of multi-tenanted lab space in an organized cluster, and is emerging as the preferred destination for major Indian and global life sciences companies. Genome Valley, spread over 600 sq kms in the vicinity of Hyderabad, is India's first systematically developed R&D cluster, boasting world-class infrastructure facilities in the form of Industrial / Knowledge Park s, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Multi-tenanted wet laboratories and Incubation facilities. The cluster synergizes a healthy mix of companies in the realm of agri-biotech, Clinical Research Management (CRM), biopharma, vaccine manufacturing, regulatory and testing, and other related areas. The cluster has over 150 life sciences companies, employing around 10,000 people. Since its inception, Genome Valley has been expanding rapidly, with approximately 200,000 SF of lab space being added every year. Genome Valley has excellent support infrastructure for R&D activities, created by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) through public-private partnerships with major partners that include MN and IKP Trust (ICICI Group). With the established presence of several global and Indian biotechnology companies, globally renowned research institutions and best-in-class supporting specialized infrastructure, Genome Valley is the largest and most vibrant R&D cluster in the country. Genome Valley also includes the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), spread over 50 acres provided by the state government.
