Church Health Profile and History
Church Health provides quality, affordable healthcare to individuals who work in low-wage jobs with no access to affordable healthcare. Founded in 1987 by Dr. Scott Morris, an ordained United Methodist minister and board-certified family practice physician, Church Health has grown to become the largest faith-based healthcare organization of its kind in the United States. The Model for Healthy Livi ng serves as the cornerstone for Church Health's care and outreach. In 2017, Church Health became one of the founding tenants of the Crosstown Concourse redevelopment project, a "vertical urban village" serving one of Memphis' most ethnically diverse and economically challenged neighborhoods. Consolidating our 13 separate facilities under one roof in our purpose-built space at Crosstown enabled us to serve more people and serve them better.
