The Sixth Masonic District is comprised of seven lodges: three that meet in Norwood, MA and four that meet in Westwood, MA. Each lodge was chartered by the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts to provide an opportunity for men of good moral character to gather as friends and ‘brothers’, and to learn the lessons of Freemasonry. What makes each lodge different is the composition of the lodge, their activities, and their respective meeting nights. Lodges once represented members of a small community and reflected the socio-economic composition of that community. With the passage of time and changes in society, some lodged merged or even moved to new locations. In the process, the composition of lodges changed as well and is now comprised of men from various geographic locations, with a broad range of interests. This is especially true in the Sixth Masonic District, where lodge compositions reflect a wide spectrum of professions, ethnicities, religions, and ages. Each lodge in the district has their own traditions and activities, both social and charitable. It is common for lodges in the district to collaborate on activities to expand the opportunity for members to socialize and act together for common goals. Working as a district to help interested men in joining the fraternity, collecting donation items for local charities, and dining together with significant others are just some of the ways the lodges of the Sixth District demonstrate district fraternity. Meeting nights vary from lodge to lodge and this should be considered by men interested in joining the Fraternity. The Sixth District is no exception. However, with seven lodges and six distinct meeting nights dispersed throughout the month, interested men will find a meeting night that fits their profession and personal schedules. If you are interested in improving yourself, helping others, socializing with men of good moral standing, and building lifelong friendships, we encourage you to contact us at email@example.com to learn how you can join the largest and oldest fraternity in the world.
